The RMIT Online Master of Marketing program consists of:
• 5 core courses + 7 electives (12 course master's).
• 5 core courses + 11 electives (16 course master's).
Flexible entry and exit points
Our Master of Marketing program encompasses courses that make up our Graduate Certificate, so if you need to exit the program early, you can earn a postgraduate qualification by successfully completing specified courses. The Graduate Certificate is also a pathway to the master's for some students (see entry requirements).

RMIT Online postgraduate students must meet minimum academic requirements, and international students must have a proficient level of English. You can find more details below.
12 course Master of Marketing
- An Australian bachelor's degree or equivalent in a business or related discipline from a recognised tertiary institution*.
OR
- An Australian bachelor's degree (or equivalent), or higher-level qualification, from a recognised tertiary institution in any discipline with a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 1.0 (out of 4.0)* plus a minimum of two years relevant work experience.
OR
- The RMIT Graduate Certificate in Marketing**.
We offer Recognition of Prior Learning, or the recognition of previous study or learning. This means you can apply for credit and reduce the number of courses you need to complete. Your application will be decided on a case-by-case basis. Speak to our Enrolment Advisors to find out more.

16 course Master of Marketing
- An Australian bachelor's degree or equivalent in any discipline from a recognised tertiary institution.
*If your qualification was completed more than 10 years ago, you will need to provide evidence of ongoing professional work and/or professional development in the same discipline as the program for which you are seeking entry.
**Upon successful completion of the graduate certificate, you will have the opportunity to progress to the master's degree.
International students are required to provide current evidence of English language proficiency for admission to RMIT University. Australian Student Visas
RMIT's online Master of Marketing does not meet Australian student visa requirements. For an Australian student visa, you must have an on-campus place in a program of study. For more details on RMIT's on-campus programs, visit rmit.edu.au.
Recognition of Prior Learning
RMIT assesses each student’s prior learning and qualifications to grant credit so you can complete your online postgraduate degree sooner. Your application will be decided on a case-by-case basis. RMIT aims to grant as much credit as possible at the time of offer, so it’s important to provide as much evidence of prior study and work experience as possible with your application.

No, you are not required to have a bachelor's degree in marketing or business. To be eligible for the program, you can have a bachelor's degree in any discipline. Note that if you’ve completed a bachelor's degree in a cognate (ie, related) discipline within the past 10 years, you may be eligible to reduce the number of courses you need to complete from 16 courses to 12 courses.
A completed bachelor's degree is usually required for you to be eligible for the masters degree directly. This is because you receive a testamur once you have officially graduated, which is used in the application process. However, you may be able to apply using a Letter of Completion, which is equivalent to testamur.

According to Job Outlook, the work opportunities for marketing and advertising professionals are projected to grow by 21.7% to 2024. Combined with your work experience, this qualification can lead to mid-level senior and marketing leadership roles, such as Marketing Manager, Director and Chief Marketing Officer. Job Outlook estimate that in the most common annual salary in Australia for marketing, brand and campaign manager is between $100,000 and $120,000. Depending on your career aspirations, the Master of Marketing can also equip you to break out on your own and start your own marketing business or consultancy.
Everyone learns in different ways. At RMIT Online, we always take a practical approach to assessments so that learning is fun and engaging. We have various types of assessments which we call ABLE (Action-Based Learning). Examples of these assessment types include research reports, case study analysis’ and pop quizzes, rather than standard exams.
