Program introduction

RMIT’s online Master of Commerce program will give you a deep knowledge of integral business concepts and principles across key business units. Whether you’re looking for a career change or want to gain a broader understanding of core business functions in a global business context, the Master of Commerce is the ideal program to support these goals.

The program is composed of practical and industry-relevant courses where knowledge learnt can be applied immediately to impact your career and organisation. These courses range in focus from Business Analytics, to People and Organisations, and from Business Project Management, to Marketing Communication Strategy, for example, and are delivered by experienced academics who are connected and renowned industry leaders.

What you will study

The Master of Commerce online program comprises of 12 courses, of which one is a compulsory capstone course, Business Research Design, and the other 11 can be selected from a choice of 16. To read about the full selection of courses available, download the brochure.

Entry requirements

Australian Bachelor degree or equivalent, or higher level qualification, in business (or a related discipline); or RMIT Graduate Certificate in Commerce.

Applicants with a degree in a non-business or related discipline need to apply for the Graduate Certificate in Commerce to complete the Masters degree in 2 years intensive part-time mode.

International students are required to provide current evidence of English language proficiency (IELTS minimum overall band of 6.5) for admission to RMIT University.

Pathways

Our Master of Commerce encompasses courses that make up our Graduate Certificate and Graduate Diploma, so if you need to exit the program early, you can earn a postgraduate qualification by successfully completing specified courses. The Graduate Certificate is also a pathway to the Masters for some students (see entry requirements).

Australian Student Visas

RMIT's Online Master of Commerce does not meet Australian student visa requirements. For an Australian student visa, you must have an on-campus place in a program of study. For more details on RMIT's on-campus programs visit rmit.edu.au.
